(EN)Provided is a printer adapted such that in a current dot-printing cycle, a heating element opposed to a non-printed dot and adjacent in the direction of main scanning to a heating element for printing a dot is supplied with a subpulse (SUB1). More specifically, as the subpulse (SUB1), a basic pulse (RP) constituting a main pulse (MP) is supplied from timing (T0) to (T1), and some chopping pulses (CP) constituting the main pulse (MP) are supplied from timing (T1) to (T2). Accordingly, a dot adjacent to the printed dot in the main scanning direction is not printed; however, the heating element for printing the printed dot will not be short of energy but can print the printed dot without causing faint print.
