In order to solve the above problem, this invention provides a method for quantifying a chemical substance contained in a sample solution, characterized by the following stripping gel(35). The stripping gel (35) covers the stripping electrode (34), and contains a standard electrolyte and an ionic liquid; however, the stripping gel (35) contains no water. Furthermore, the ionic liquid is hydrophobic and nonvolatile, and the standard electrolyte is consisted of the anion and a metallic ion.
