(EN)Provided is a power conversion device and the like capable of ensuring high efficiency and high reliability, and equipped with: a boosting means (2) that changes the voltage supplied by a power source (1) to a prescribed voltage; a commutation means (4) that performs a commutation operation whereby current flowing in the boosting means (2) is made to flow in another path; a smoothing means (3) that supplies, to the load (9) side, the power resulting when the voltage pertaining to the output of the boosting means (2) and the commutation means (4) is smoothed; and a control means (6) that, based on the voltage and/or the current pertaining to the boosting means (2), performs control pertaining to varying the voltage boosted by the boosting means (2) and controls the commutation operation of commutation means (4).
