Title: AROMATIC COPOLYMER HAVING SULFONIC ACID GROUPS, AND USES THEREOF
Abstract:
Provided is an aromatic copolymer having sulfonic acid groups, which exhibits high proton conductivity, reduced swelling in hot water and reduced drying shrinkage. The aromatic copolymer comprises a polymer segment (A) comprising structural units represented by formula (1) and a polymer segment (B) comprising structural units represented by formula (2). In formula (1), the R1 moieties are each independently a halogen atom, a C1-20 monovalent hydrocarbon group, or a C1-20 monovalent halogenated hydrocarbon group; a is an integer of 0 to 3; and k is an integer of 1 to (4-a), with the proviso that the R1 moieties may be the same or different. In formula (2), the R4 moieties are each independently a halogen atom, a C1-20 monovalent hydrocarbon group, or a C1-20 monovalent halogenated hydrocarbon group; d is an integer of 0 to 3; e is an integer of 1 to (4-d); and J is a group represented by formula (2-1) [wherein R2 and R3 are each a halogen atom, a C1-20 monovalent hydrocarbon group, or the like; A and E are each an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; D is a direct bond, -O-, or the like; b and c are each an integer of 0 to 4; and q is an integer of 0 to 4].
