The invention is directed to a switching device (Sij) adapted to connects parts of a computer interconnection network, having N input ports (Ia - Ih) and N output ports (Oa - Oh), the device adapted for routing data packets by means of direct crosspoints (CPxy), the direct crosspoints configured for enabling direct connectivity between each of the N input ports to a subset m < N of the output ports only, in accordance with connectivity needs of the computer interconnection network. Preferably, it further comprises an additional circuitry (L) and additional crosspoints (ΑΡx,L, ΑΡL,y) configured such that at least some of the input ports of the switching device can be indirectly connected to at least some of the output ports of the switching device, through the additional circuitry. The invention further concerns an interconnection network and a method for routing data.

Cette invention concerne un dispositif de commutation (Sij) conçu pour connecter des pièces à un réseau d'interconnexion informatique, qui comprend N ports d'entrée (Ia - Ih) et N ports de sortie (Oa - Oh), le dispositif étant adapté pour router des paquets de données au moyen de points de croisement directs (CPxy), lesquels points de croisement directs sont conçus pour permettre une connectivité directe entre chacun des N points d'entrée avec un sous-semble m < N de points de sortie seulement, selon les besoins de connectivité du réseau d'interconnexion informatique. Le dispositif de commutation comprend de préférence un ensemble de circuits supplémentaires (L) et des points de croissement supplémentaires (ΑΡx,L, ΑΡL,y) tels qu'au moins certains des ports d'entrée du dispositif de commande peuvent être connectés indirectement à certains des ports de sortie via l'ensemble de circuits supplémentaires. De plus, l'invention concerne un réseau d'interconnexion et un procédé de routage des données.
