Title: COMPOUND INHIBITING ACTIVATION OF THE ENZYME ERK1/2 FOR USE IN THE TREATMENT OF NEUROGENERATIVE ILLNESSES
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a compound of formula (I) for use as a medicine, in particular for use in the treatment of diseases mediated by the activation of the protein kinase Erk1/2, such as neurogenerative illnesses like Alzheimer's and related dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, or stroke, and likewise relates to the pharmaceutical compositions containing said compound. The compound of formula (I) effectively inhibits the activation of the enzyme Erk1/2 induced by the tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) and also effectively inhibits the apoptosis generated by the β-amyloid peptide.
