Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for noise optimizing an echo signal for vehicle environment detection, preferably working in the ultrasonic frequency range, wherein a measurement signal (22) having a pulse repetition interval that can be predetermined, a predetermined burst length, and a defined signal frequency is emitted and a resulting echo signal (24,24') is received and analyzed, and to an associated device for noise optimizing an echo signal for vehicle environment detection and to a device for vehicle environment detection having such a device for noise optimizing. In order to achieve a particularly simple and effective improvement of the noise behavior, a frequency spectrum of the received echo signal (24, 24') and a prevailing noise spectrum in the vehicle environment are determined, wherein a differential frequency spectrum is calculated by subtracting the determined prevailing noise spectrum from the frequency spectrum of the received echo signal (24, 24'), from which a noise corrected echo signal (24'') that can be further analyzed is generated.
