Abstract
(EN) Disclosed and claimed is a method for improving the froth quality and bitumen recovery in primary bitumen extraction processes by coagulant addition in the underwash feed water. Preferred coagulants are cationic or amphoteric polymers. Coagulant addition in the underwash feed water reduces the solids content reporting to the primary bitumen froth in a primary separation vessel (PSC). This treatment program can also be combined with dispersant addition in the dilution make-up feed water into a PSC. Preferred dispersants are low molecular weight anionic polymers.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé d'amélioration de la qualité de la mousse et de la récupération de bitume dans des procédés d'extraction de bitume primaire par l'addition de coagulant dans l'eau d'apport d'affouillement. Les coagulants préférés sont des polymères cationiques ou amphotères. L'addition de coagulants dans l'eau d'apport d'affouillement réduit la teneur en matières solides se rapportant à la mousse de bitume primaire dans un récipient de séparation primaire (PSC). Ce programme de traitement peut également être combiné à l'addition de dispersant dans l'eau d'apport d'appoint de dilution dans une PSC. Les dispersants préférés sont des polymères anioniques de faible masse moléculaire.
