Abstract
(EN) A method of forming a polycrystalline diamond comprises derivatizing a nanodiamond to form functional groups, and combining the derivatized nanodiamond with a microdiamond having an average particle size greater than that of the derivatized nanodiamond, and a metal solvent-catalyst. A polycrystalline diamond compact is prepared by adhering the polycrystalline diamond to a support, and an article such as a cutting tool may be prepared from the polycrystalline diamond compact.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un procédé de formation d'un diamant polycristallin, qui comprend la transformation en dérivé d'un nanodiamant pour former des groupes fonctionnels, et la combinaison du nanodiamant transformé en dérivé avec un microdiamant ayant une granulométrie moyenne supérieure à celle du nanodiamant transformé en dérivé, et d'un catalyseur de dissolution des métaux. Un comprimé de diamant polycristallin est préparé par collage du diamant polycristallin à un support, et un article tel qu'un outil de coupe peut être préparé à partir du comprimé de diamant polycristallin.
