Abstract
(EN) Disclosed is a polarization independent wavelength conversion device comprising a polarization maintaining optical fiber which is provided with a first end portion and a second end portion, and has first and second polarization axes which are mutually orthogonal to each other while having different light propagation speeds; and a group velocity difference cancellation unit which receives a signaling light which has an arbitrary polarization condition and a pump light which has a polarization component parallel to the first polarization axis and a polarization component parallel to the second polarization axis and causes the signal light, and wavelength conversion light which is generated in the polarization maintaining optical fiber by the propagation of the signal light and the pump light, to be transmitted through the polarization maintaining optical fiber such that the group velocity difference which occurs between the first and second polarization axes has no influence on the signal light and the wavelength conversion light respectively.
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif de conversion de longueur d'onde indépendant de la polarisation qui comprend une fibre optique maintenant la polarisation qui comprend une première partie d'extrémité et une seconde partie d'extrémité et possède des premier et second axes de polarisation mutuellement orthogonaux tout en ayant différentes vitesses de propagation de la lumière; et une unité d'annulation de différence de vélocité de groupe qui reçoit une lumière de signalisation ayant une condition de polarisation arbitraire et une lumière de pompe qui possède une composante de polarisation parallèle au premier axe de polarisation et une composante de polarisation parallèle au second axe de polarisation, et qui transmet la lumière de signal, ainsi que la lumière de conversion de longueur d'onde générée dans la fibre optique maintenant la polarisation par la propagation de la lumière de signal et de la lumière de pompe, à travers la fibre optique maintenant la polarisation de sorte que la différence de vélocité de groupe se produisant entre les premier et second axes de polarisation n'a aucune influence sur la lumière de signal et sur la lumière de conversion de longueur d'onde, respectivement.
