Abstract
(EN) A spray-chilled particulate delivery system that has a crystalline matrix structure and comprises a volatile hydrophobic active ingredient and a carrier material selected from the group consisting of erythritol and mannitol and mixtures thereof wherein, relative to the total weight of the carrier material, 75% or more of the carrier material is in crystalline form. The process for preparing the delivery system comprises the steps of (i) forming a melt of a carrier material selected from the group consisting of erythritol and mannitol and mixtures thereof (ii) incorporating a volatile hydrophobic active ingredient into the melt (iii) forming a melt-mixture comprising an emulsion, dispersion or suspension of the volatile hydrophobic active ingredient in the melt (iv) forming discrete particles of the melt mixture, and (v) cooling the discrete particles, so as to form the crystalline delivery system.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'administration à base de particules réfrigérées par atomisation présentant une structure de type matrice cristalline et comprenant un principe actif hydrophobe volatile et un excipient choisi dans le groupe constitué de l'érythritol, du mannitol et des mélanges de ceux-ci, au moins 75 % de l'excipient, sur la base de son poids total, se présentant sous une forme cristalline. Le procédé de fabrication dudit dispositif d'administration comprend les étapes consistant (i) à faire fondre un excipient choisi dans le groupe constitué de l'érythritol, du mannitol et des mélanges de ceux-ci, (ii) à y incorporer un principe actif hydrophobe volatile, (iii) à préparer un mélange fondu constitué d'une émulsion, d'une dispersion ou d'une suspension du principe actif hydrophobe volatile dans l'excipient fondu, (iv) à préparer des particules discrètes dudit mélange et (v) à faire refroidir lesdites particules discrètes de façon à obtenir ledit dispositif d'administration cristallin.
