Abstract
(EN)
An energy storage device is provided. The energy storage device includes a cathode material and a separator in electrical communication with the cathode material. The cathode material includes zinc. The separator has a first surface that defines at least a portion of a first chamber, and a second surface that defines a second chamber. The first chamber is in ionic communication with the second chamber through the separator. The separator includes an alkali-metal-ion conducting material and a toughening material. A method for operating the energy storage device is also provided. Furthermore, an energy storage system including the energy storage device is provided.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de stockage d'énergie. Le dispositif de stockage d'énergie comprend un matériau cathodique et un séparateur en communication électrique avec le matériau cathodique. Le matériau cathodique contient du zinc. Le séparateur présente une première surface qui définit au moins une partie d'une première chambre et une seconde surface qui définit une seconde chambre. La première chambre est en communication ionique avec la seconde chambre par l'intermédiaire du séparateur. Le séparateur contient un matériau conducteur d'ions de métal alcalin et un matériau de trempe. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant de faire fonctionner le dispositif de stockage d'énergie. L'invention concerne également un système de stockage d'énergie comprenant ledit dispositif de stockage d'énergie.
