The invention is a power plant cooling system comprising a direct contact condenser (11), a cooling tower (12) with at least one heat dissipating unit (13), a pipeline (15) and a cooling water pump (16) suitable for circulating cooling water between the direct contact condenser (11) and the heat dissipating unit (13), as well as a de-aerating structural component (14) defining a de-aerating space adjoining to the top of a flow space of the heat dissipating unit (13). The inventive cooling system comprises a means suitable for maintaining a vacuum in the de-aerating space. The invention also relates to a method for operating the cooling system.

L'invention porte sur un système de refroidissement de centrale électrique qui comporte un condenseur à contact direct (11), une tour de refroidissement (12) munie d'au moins une unité de dissipation thermique (13), une canalisation (15) et une pompe à eau de refroidissement (16) appropriée pour faire circuler l'eau de refroidissement entre le condenseur à contact direct (11) et l'unité de dissipation thermique (13), ainsi qu'un élément structurel de désaération (14) définissant un espace de désaération contigu à la partie supérieure d'un espace d'écoulement de l'unité de dissipation thermique (13). Le système de refroidissement selon l'invention comporte un moyen approprié pour maintenir le vide dans l'espace de désaération. L'invention porte également sur le procédé de fonctionnement du système de refroidissement.
