Abstract

The invention provides an apparatus for processing material such as organically coated waste and organic materials including biomass, industrial waste, municipal solid waste and sludge, comprising a processing chamber (2) for processing said material at an elevated temperature to produce syngas and a combustion chamber (4) having at least one burner therein for combusting syngas released by processing of said material. A conduit means (18) is provided between said combustion chamber and said processing chamber for carrying hot exhaust gasses from the combustion chamber (4) to said processing chamber (2) and at last one mirror (24) is arranged to reflect and concentrate sunlight thereby to cause the temperature within said processing chamber (2) to be raised. The apparatus also includes a syngas reservoir (66). A storage conduit (62) is provided for carrying syngas into said syngas reservoir (66) and a syngas feed line (68) is provided for feeding syngas from said reservoir to said combustion chamber (4).

L'invention se rapporte à un appareil permettant de traiter un matériau tel que des matériaux organiques et des déchets organiquement enrobés, y compris la biomasse, les déchets industriels, les déchets et les agrégats solides des villes. Ledit appareil comprend une chambre de traitement (2) pour traiter ledit matériau à une température élevée afin de produire un gaz de synthèse, et une chambre de combustion (4) ayant au moins un brûleur à l'intérieur de cette dernière pour brûler le gaz de synthèse libéré par le traitement dudit matériau. Un moyen de conduit (18) est disposé entre ladite chambre de combustion et ladite chambre de traitement pour transporter des gaz d'échappement chauds depuis la chambre de combustion (4) jusqu'à ladite chambre de traitement (2) et au moins un miroir (24) est agencé pour réfléchir et concentrer la lumière du soleil, ce qui permet d'augmenter la température à l'intérieur de ladite chambre de traitement (2). L'appareil comprend également un réservoir de gaz de synthèse (66) et une conduite d'alimentation en gaz de synthèse (68) est utilisée pour faire passer le gaz de synthèse dudit réservoir à ladite chambre de combustion (4).
