Abstract

Methods for coating a substrate with wear resistant particles by electroless nickel (Ni) plating. A method includes immersing the substrate in a bath provided in a cell, the bath having a Ni salt; adding cubic Boron Nitride (cBN) particles having a predetermined size to the bath so as to produce a predetermined concentration of cBN; maintaining the substrate in the bath with the cBN particles for a predetermined time; and removing the substrate, wherein the removed substrate has a coating of cBN and Ni in a first range.

L'invention concerne des méthodes de revêtement d'un substrat par des particules résistant à l'usure par plaquage « electroless » de nickel (Ni). Une méthode inclut l'immersion du substrat dans un bain préparé dans une cuve, le bain contenant un sel de Ni; l'addition au bain de particules cubiques de nitrure de bore (cBN) de taille prédéterminée pour obtenir une concentration prédéterminée en cBN; le maintien du substrat dans le bain avec les particules de cBN pendant une durée prédéterminée; et le retrait du substrat, le substrat retiré présentant un revêtement de cBN et de Ni dans un premier intervalle.
