The present invention provides a method for size reduction of a material comprising the steps of: feeding material through a feed assembly into a cyclone chamber, the cyclone chamber having an elongate cylindrical conduit having a frusto-conical section; adding at least one viscosity modifying agent into the cyclone chamber; and providing a cyclonic fluid stream within the cyclone chamber. The present invention also provides an apparatus for size reduction of a material. The apparatus comprises: a cyclone chamber (4) having an elongate cylindrical conduit having a frusto-conical section (4a); a device (5) for creating a cyclonic fluid stream within the cyclone chamber (4), such that the frusto-conical section (4a) of the cyclone chamber (4) terminates in an opening forming the inlet to the device; an air inlet tube (3) in fluid connection with the cyclone chamber (4) at the opposite end of the frusto-conical section (4a); and a feed assembly for feeding material into the cyclone chamber (4).

La présente invention concerne un procédé pour une réduction de dimension d'un matériau, comprenant les étapes suivantes : alimentation d'un matériau à travers un ensemble d'alimentation dans une chambre cyclonique, la chambre cyclonique possédant un conduit cylindrique allongé ayant une section tronconique; ajout d'au moins un agent de modification de viscosité dans la chambre cyclonique; et fourniture d'un courant fluidique cyclonique dans la chambre cyclonique. La présente invention porte également sur un appareil pour une réduction de dimension d'un matériau. L'appareil comprend : une chambre cyclonique (4) ayant un conduit cylindrique allongé ayant une section tronconique (4a); un dispositif (5) pour créer un courant de fluide cyclonique dans la chambre cyclonique (4), de telle sorte que la section tronconique (4a) de la chambre cyclonique (4) se termine en une ouverture formant l'entrée du dispositif; un tube d'entrée d'air (3) en connexion de fluide avec la chambre cyclonique (4) à l'extrémité opposée de la section tronconique (4a); et un ensemble d'alimentation pour alimenter un matériau dans la chambre cyclonique (4).
