Abstract
(EN) A method of identifying a new end-user device connected within a network includes monitoring a plurality of remote outlets and detecting a new end-user device upon connection thereof to the network at a first of the remote outlets and determining information about the new end-user device by electronically communicating with some but not all of the remote outlets. A system for performing such a method with a network having a plurality of end-user devices connected thereto is also disclosed.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé d'identification d'un nouveau dispositif d'utilisateur final connecté au sein d'un réseau consistant à surveiller une pluralité de points de sortie distants, à détecter un nouveau dispositif d'utilisateur final lors de la connexion de celui-ci au réseau au niveau d'un premier des points de sortie distants et à déterminer des informations sur le nouveau dispositif d'utilisateur final par la communication électronique avec certains des points de sortie distants, mais pas la totalité. L'invention concerne également un système permettant de mettre en œuvre un tel procédé avec un réseau comprenant une pluralité de dispositifs d'utilisateur final connectés à celui-ci.
