A vehicle powertrain has an engine, a driving shaft having a passage defined therein, a driven shaft, a pump, a hydraulic fluid reservoir, and a CVT. A driving pulley of the CVT includes a fixed sheave and a movable sheave disposed on the driving shaft for rotation therewith, a spring biasing the movable sheave away from the fixed sheave, and a CVT chamber fluidly communicating with the passage of the driving shaft. The pump supplies hydraulic fluid from the reservoir to the passage in the driving shaft. The hydraulic fluid flows from the passage to the CVT chamber to create a hydraulic pressure in the CVT chamber. The hydraulic pressure in the CVT chamber biases the movable sheave toward the fixed sheave.

L'invention concerne un groupe propulseur de véhicule comprenant un moteur, un arbre d'entraînement comportant un passage défini dans celui-ci, un arbre d'entraînement, une pompe, un réservoir de fluide hydraulique et une transmission à variation continue (TVC). Une poulie d'entraînement de la TVC comprend une poulie fixe et une poulie mobile disposées sur l'arbre d'entraînement de façon à tourner avec celui-ci, un ressort sollicitant la poulie mobile de manière à l'éloigner de la poulie fixe, et une chambre de TVC en communication fluide avec le passage de l'arbre d'entraînement. La pompe délivre un fluide hydraulique du réservoir vers le passage dans l'arbre d'entraînement. Le fluide hydraulique circule du passage vers la chambre de TVC afin de créer une pression hydraulique dans la chambre de TVC. La pression hydraulique dans la chambre de TVC sollicite la poulie mobile vers la poulie fixe.
