Abstract

A sensor system for mitigating a flame condition in a battery subject to an overcharge condition and being charged using a charging current is provided. A temperature sensor is configured to detect a temperature of at least one component of the battery, and a gas sensor is configured to detect an inflammable gas or vapor. A sensor control is configured to, when the temperature of the at least one component of the battery exceeds a pre-determined temperature threshold and when the gas sensor detects an inflammable gas or vapor, halt the charging current.

L'invention concerne un système de capteur pour atténuer une condition de flamme dans une batterie faisant l'objet d'une condition de surcharge et étant chargée au moyen d'un courant de charge. Un capteur de température est conçu pour détecter une température d'au moins un élément de la batterie, et un capteur de gaz est conçu pour détecter un gaz ou une vapeur inflammable. Une commande par capteur est conçue pour arrêter le courant de charge lorsque la température du ou des éléments de la batterie dépasse un seuil de température prédéterminé et lorsque le capteur de gaz détecte un gaz ou une vapeur inflammable.
