The invention relates to a method for stabilising liquid mercury using sulfur polymer cement, via mercury sulfide. Said method for stabilising liquid mercury by the production of sulfur polymer cement comprises (a) transformation of the liquid mercury into mercury sulfide (metacinnabar) by a chemical reaction, under stoichiometric conditions, between mercury and elemental sulfur; and (b) production of sulfur polymer cement by incorporating the mercury sulfide produced in the previous step into a stable mixture consisting of aggregates, elemental sulfur and a sulfur polymer.

Procedimiento de estabilización de mercurio líquido mediante cemento polimérico de azufre, vía sulfuro de mercurio. Procedimiento para la estabilización de mercurio líquido mediante la obtención de cementos poliméricos de azufre que comprende: (a) transformación del mercurio líquido en sulfuro de mercurio (metacinabrio) mediante reacción química, en condiciones estequiométricas, entre el mercurio y el azufre elemental; y (b) obtención de cemento polimérico de azufre mediante la incorporación el sulfuro de mercurio obtenido en la etapa anterior, en una mezcla estable constituida por áridos, azufre elemental y un polímero de azufre.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de stabilisation de mercure liquide au moyen de ciment polymère de soufre, à l'aide de sulfure de mercure. Le procédé de stabilisation de mercure liquide au moyen de l'obtention de ciments polymères de soufre consiste : (a) à transformer le mercure liquide en sulfure de mercure (métacinabre) au moyen d'une réaction chimique, dans des conditions stoechiométriques, entre le mercure et le soufre élémentaire; et (b) à obtenir un ciment polymère de soufre grâce à l'introduction du sulfure de mercure obtenu à l'étape précédente dans un mélange stable composé d'agrégats, de soufre élémentaire et d'un polymère de soufre.
