A data processing method for determining the position of a main plane of an anatomical body part, comprising the steps of: • providing absolute auxiliary point data which describe the position of at least one actual auxiliary point of the body part relative to a marker device attached to the body part, the at least one actual auxiliary point being outside the main plane; • providing relative point data which constrain the possible positions of the main plane relative to the at least one actual auxiliary point; • providing absolute main point data which describe the position of one or two actual main points of the body part relative to the marker device attached to the body part, said one or two actual main points lying in the main plane and/or calculating the position of at least one virtual main point relative to the marker device, said at least one virtual main point being in the main plane and being calculated based on the absolute auxiliary point data and the relative point data; • calculating a position of the main plane relative to the marker device, wherein the calculation uses the relative point data and auxiliary point data as well as the provided absolute main point data and/or the calculated position of the at least one virtual main point.

L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement de données destiné à déterminer la position d'un plan principal d'une partie de corps anatomique, lequel procédé consistant : à fournir des données absolues de point auxiliaire décrivant la position d'au moins un point auxiliaire réel de la partie de corps par rapport à un dispositif marqueur fixé à la partie de corps, l'au moins un point auxiliaire réel se trouvant à l'extérieur du plan principal, à fournir des données relatives de point contraignant les positions éventuelles du plan principal par rapport à l'au moins un point auxiliaire réel, à fournir des données absolues de point principal décrivant la position d'un ou de deux points principaux réels de la partie de corps par rapport au dispositif marqueur fixé à la partie de corps, ledit un ou deux points principaux réels se trouvant dans le plan principal, et/ou calculant la position d'au moins un point principal virtuel par rapport au dispositif marqueur, ledit au moins un point principal virtuel se trouvant dans le plan principal et étant calculé à partir des données de point auxiliaire absolues et des données de point relatives, à calculer une position du plan principal par rapport au dispositif marqueur, le calcul utilisant les données relatives de point et les données de point auxiliaire ainsi que les données absolues de point principal fournies et/ou la position calculée de l'au moins un point principal virtuel.
