Abstract

A closed- loop hydraulic control system (250) that may arrest the motion of attached devices in the event of loss of electrical or hydraulic power or in the event of an emergency. Gangways (150) from a ship to a platform and ladders on fire trucks may have hydraulic control systems that allow for free motion in several different directions in order to keep stability in rough waters or shifting ground. If the gangway or ladder begins to fall due to loss of hydraulic power or a failure in the securing of one end, the closed- loop control system may detect these situations and actuate the closing of valves (335) to limit or stop the falling motion of the gangway or ladder. Various control or damping algorithms may be employed to yield a desired and controlled arresting of motion so as to prevent injury and damage.

L'invention concerne un système de commande hydraulique en boucle fermée pouvant interrompre le mouvement de dispositifs raccordés en cas de coupure de l'alimentation électrique ou hydraulique ou en cas d'urgence. Des passerelles entre un navire et une plate-forme et des échelles sur un camion de pompiers peuvent comporter des systèmes de commande hydraulique permettant un mouvement libre dans plusieurs directions différentes dans le but de conserver la stabilité dans les mers agitées ou sur des terrains irréguliers. Si la passerelle ou l'échelle commence à tomber à cause de la disparition de l'alimentation hydraulique ou d'une défaillance de la fixation à une extrémité, le système de commande en boucle fermée peut détecter ces situations et commander la fermeture de vannes afin de limiter ou d'arrêter le mouvement de chute de la passerelle ou de l'échelle. On peut utiliser différents algorithmes de commande ou d'amortissement pour obtenir un arrêt volontaire et commandé du mouvement, de manière à éviter les dommages corporels ou matériels.
