Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a subsea catenary and a method of distributing ballast on a pipe. The subsea catenary includes a flexible pipe, and a selected amount of ballast attached to the flexible pipe, in which the ballast is distributed in a wave pattern on a sag bend of the subsea catenary. The method includes identifying a position of a sag bend in a flexible pipe of the subsea catenary, and applying ballast in a wave distribution along the subsea pipe at the identified position.

La présente invention concerne un caténaire sous-marin et un procédé de distribution de ballast sur une conduite. Le caténaire sous-marin comprend une conduite souple et une quantité sélectionnée de ballast fixée à la conduite souple, le ballast étant distribué selon un motif ondulé sur un point bas du caténaire sous-marin. Le procédé consiste à identifier une position d'un point bas au niveau de la conduite souple du caténaire sous-marin et à appliquer un ballast selon une distribution ondulée sur la conduite souple au niveau de la position identifiée.
