An asymmetric ultrasound transducer array may include multiple regions or groups of transducer elements. The regions may be configured to generate respective ultrasound beams with different capabilities, such as, e.g., focusing at varying focal depths and lateral steering, and/or focusing into different volumes.

La présente invention concerne un transducteur à ultrasons asymétrique en réseau phasé, dont le réseau peut comprendre plusieurs régions ou groupes d'éléments transducteurs. Les régions peuvent être conçues pour produire des faisceaux d'ultrasons respectifs dotés de fonctions différentes, comme par exemple la focalisation à des profondeurs focales variables et le guidage latéral, et/ou la focalisation dans différents volumes.
