(EN)The subject invention provides an improved bypass circuit for use in adult and especially pediatric cardiac surgery. The auto regulating capability of this circuit design simplifies its operation and combines the benefits of both VAVD and KAVD systems while eliminating the need for multiple blood pumps. Advantageously, this system occupies less space than existing systems, requires the use of less blood, reduces the contact between blood and tubing, reduces damage to blood cells, eliminates the need for multiple blood pumps and also reduces the incidence of gaseous emboli.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un circuit de pontage amélioré destiné à être utilisé chez un adulte et spécialement en chirurgie cardiaque pédiatrique. La capacité d'autorégulation de cette configuration de circuit simplifie son fonctionnement et combine les avantages des systèmes VAVD et KAVD tout en éliminant le besoin de multiples pompes sanguines. Ce système occupe avantageusement moins d'espace que les systèmes actuels, nécessite l'utilisation de moins de sang, réduit le contact entre le sang et la tubulure, réduit les lésions aux cellules sanguines, élimine le besoin de multiples pompes sanguines et en outre réduit l'incidence d'embolie gazeuse.
