(EN)Provided are a method for the modification of cemented carbides and cemented carbides modified by the method, and more particularly, an advantageous method for modifying a cemented carbide layer which has been formed by thermal spraying on the surface of a metal substrate. The method for the modification of cemented carbides includes applying friction stir processing to a cemented carbide to refine the grains of the binder phase contained in the cemented carbide. In particular, effective modification can be attained by applying friction stir processing to a cemented carbide layer which has been formed by thermal spraying on the surface of a metal substrate.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé de modification de carbures cémentés et des carbures cémentés modifiés selon le procédé, et plus particulièrement un procédé avantageux pour modifier une couche de carbure cémenté qui a été formée par pulvérisation thermique sur la surface d'un substrat en métal. Le procédé de modification de carbures cémentés comprend l'application d'un traitement d'agitation par frottement à un carbure cémenté pour affiner les grains de la phase liante contenue dans le carbure cémenté. En particulier, une modification efficace peut être accomplie par application d'un traitement d'agitation par frottement à une couche de carbure cémenté qui a été formée par pulvérisation thermique sur la surface d'un substrat en métal.
