(EN)There is provided insect screening models to determine gastrointestinal absorption of different chemical compounds in vertebrates, and in particular humans, in order to improve the compound screening procedures/processes in the early drug discovery process. This offers many advantages relative to prior technologies since insect models are more reliable tools for the decision-making process than the existing in vitro models, and will speed up the drug screening process and reduce the late phase attrition rate. Moreover, it will reduce the number of mammals sacrificed during the drug discovery phase.
(FR)La présente invention concerne des modèles de criblage à base d'insectes pour déterminer l'adsorption gastro-intestinale de différents composés chimiques chez des vertébrés, et en particulier des humains, afin d'améliorer les procédures/processus de criblage de composés dans le processus de découverte de médicaments. Cette technique offre plusieurs avantages par rapport aux technologies de l'art antérieur étant donné que des modèles d'insectes sont des outils plus fiables pour le processus de prise de décision que les modèles in vitro existants, et va accélérer le processus de criblage de médicaments et réduire le taux d'attrition de phase tardive. En outre, cela va réduire le nombre de mammifères sacrifiés lors de la phase de découverte de médicaments.
