(EN)The invention is in the field of genomics and it provides an in vitro method for predicting whether a compound is genotoxic in vivo. It provides a method that employs the analysis of expression profiles of primary mouse hepatocytes as an in vitro system to discriminate false GTX compounds from true GTX carcinogens. It was found that differential expression of a number of genes could reliably predict whether a compound was a true genotoxic compound.
(FR)L'invention s'applique dans le domaine de la génomique et concerne un procédé in vitro pour prédire si un composé est génotoxique in vivo. Elle concerne un procédé qui utilise l'analyse des profils d'expression des hépatocytes primaires de souris en tant que système in vitro pour discriminer les faux composés GTX des vrais carcinogènes GTX. Il s'est avéré que l'expression différentielle d'un certain nombre de gènes permettait de prédire avec fiabilité si un composé est un vrai composé génotoxique.
