Various methods and systems for obtaining light hydrocarbon distillate from material comprising bitumen are disclosed. The method may include a primary leaching or extraction process that separates most of the bitumen from the material comprising bitumen and results in a bitumen- enriched solvent phase and first solvent-wet tailings. The bitumen-enriched solvent phase includes mainly solvent and bitumen. The bitumen-enriched solvent phase is injected into a nozzle reactor wherein at least a portion of the bitumen is cracked into light hydrocarbon distillate. The light hydrocarbon distillate may then be used as solvent in the first primary leaching or extraction step.

La présente invention concerne divers procédés et systèmes permettant d'obtenir un distillat léger à partir d'un matériau contenant du bitume. Ledit procédé peut comprendre un processus d'extraction ou de lixiviation primaire permettant de séparer la plus grande partie du bitume du matériau contenant le bitume, avec pour résultat l'obtention d'une phase constituée d'un solvant enrichi en bitume et des premiers produits de queue imbibés de solvant. La phase constituée du solvant enrichi en bitume contient essentiellement du solvant et du bitume. La phase constituée du solvant enrichi en bitume est injectée dans un réacteur équipé d'un diffuseur dans lequel au moins une partie du bitume fait l'objet d'un craquage pour donner un distillat léger. Ledit distillat léger peut ensuite être utilisé en tant que solvant dans la première étape d'extraction ou de lixiviation primaire.
