A vehicle electrical system comprises two generators coupled with one or more electrical subsystem, each of which includes at least one of a stored energy source and electrical load. Each generator is regulated via its associated voltage regulator at a common regulation voltage. Sequential electrical power delivery from the generators is achieved via a sequencing means. Where two or more electrical subsystems are present, electrical isolation is achieved via an isolating means. Overcharge protection is achieved by sensing and responding to the highest voltage of the two or more electrical subsystems.

Cette invention concerne un système électrique de véhicule comprenant deux générateurs couplés à un ou plusieurs sous-système(s) électrique(s), dont chacun comprend au moins une source d'énergie stockée et/ou une charge électrique. Chaque générateur est régulé par son régulateur de tension associé à une tension de régulation commune. L'alimentation électrique séquentielle à partir des générateurs est réalisée par l'intermédiaire de moyens de séquencement. Si le nombre de sous-systèmes électriques est supérieur ou égal à deux, l'isolation électrique est réalisée par un moyen d'isolation. La protection contre la surcharge est atteinte par détection de la tension la plus élevée des sous-systèmes électriques et par réaction à ladite tension.
