Provided is a biosynthetic gene cluster of antibiotic-Nocathiacins. The gene cluster comprises 37 genes related to biosynthesis of Nocathiacins: 8 genes related to biosynthesis of macrocyclic framework, 4 genes related to biosynthesis of indolic acid side chain, 6 genes related to deoxidized glycosyl biosynthesis, 5 genes of cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase, 2 genes of methyl transferase, 2 resistance genes, 3 regulation genes, 3 genes with unknown function, and 4 genes related to transcription and translation. Also provided are proteins coded by said gene cluster, expression vector and host cell comprising said gene cluster, and method for the production of Nocathiacins by using said gene cluster.

La présente invention concerne une famille de gènes biosynthétiques codant pour des antibiotiques du type nocathiacine. La famille de gènes comprend 37 gènes liés à la biosynthèse de nocathiacines : 8 gènes liés à la biosynthèse de la structure macrocyclique, 4 gènes liés à la biosynthèse de la chaîne latérale acide indolique, 6 gènes liés à la biosynthèse du glycosyle désoxydé, 5 gènes de l'oxydoréductase du cytochrome P450, 2 gènes de la méthyl transférase, 2 gènes de résistance, 3 gènes de régulation, 3 gènes ayant une fonction inconnue, et 4 gènes liés à la transcription et à la traduction. L'invention concerne également des protéines codées par ladite famille de gènes, le vecteur d'expression et la cellule hôte comprenant ladite famille de gènes, et le procédé de production des nocathiacines utilisant ladite famille de gènes.
