Abstract

An enclosure having a high efficiency solar control system is provided. The enclosure may have a transparent or opaque base layer and a film mounted to its exterior side. The film may reflect solar radiation in the near and mid infrared ranges yet allow high transmission of light in the visible range. The film may have a layer of silver which reflects the solar radiation in the near and mid infrared ranges. Since the silver is susceptible to oxidation and turns the silver into a black body which absorbs the near and mid infrared radiation, the film may be designed to slow the rate of oxidation of the silver layer to an acceptable level. The silver layer may be sandwiched between the base layer which may not allow oxygen to diffuse there through and reach the layer of silver and a stack of sacrificial layers having a certain thickness which slows down the rate of oxygen diffusion to an acceptable level.

Cette invention concerne un recouvrement comprenant un système de protection solaire de haute efficacité. Le recouvrement peut comprendre une couche de base transparente ou opaque et un film monté sur son côté extérieur. Le film peut réfléchir le rayonnement solaire dans les domaines de l'infrarouge proche et moyen, tout en permettant une haute transmission de la lumière dans le domaine du visible. Le film peut présenter une couche d'argent qui réfléchit le rayonnement solaire dans les domaines de l'infrarouge proche et moyen. Etant donné que l'argent est sensible à l'oxydation qui le transforme en un corps noir absorbant le rayonnement infrarouge proche et moyen, le film peut être conçu pour ralentir la vitesse d'oxydation de la couche d'argent pour l'amener à un niveau acceptable. La couche d'argent peut être prise en sandwich entre la couche de base qui peut empêcher l'oxygène de se diffuser à travers celle-ci pour atteindre la couche d'argent, et une pile de couches sacrificielles présentant une certaine épaisseur qui ralentit la vitesse de diffusion de l'oxygène pour l'amener à un niveau acceptable.
