An optical fiber cable comprising a polymeric jacket and at least one elongated buffer tube having a substantially circular cross-section and at least one optical fiber disposed within the at least one buffer tube. The optical fiber cable further comprises at least one dummy rod having a substantially non- circular cross-section, wherein the cross-sectional area of each dummy rod is at least 10% less than the cross-sectional area of the at least one elongated buffer tube along a majority of the length of the at least one dummy rod.

La présente invention se rapporte à un câble à fibres optiques qui comprend une couche de protection en polymère et au moins un tube tampon allongé présentant une coupe transversale sensiblement circulaire et contenant au minimum une fibre optique. Ledit câble à fibres optiques comprend en outre au moins une fausse tige dont la coupe transversale est sensiblement non circulaire. La zone en coupe transversale de chaque fausse tige est au moins inférieure de 10 % à la zone en coupe transversale du ou des tubes tampons allongés sur la majeure partie de la longueur de la fausse tige ou des fausses tiges.
