The present invention provides a technique that enables, in an environment in which an upper limit of electric energy consumption is prescribed for a specific period, operations of a storage device while keeping the electric energy consumption within the prescribed upper limit and, at the same time, maintaining operations of a disk device of a storage device necessary for providing services to a user. A storage system according to the present invention includes a storage device having one or more energized parts and a management device that manages operations of the storage device. The management device acquires electric energy consumption of the energized part and controls the operational state of the energized part so that the electric energy consumption of the storage device over a predetermined period does not exceed a prescribed upper limit (refer to Fig. 3).

L'invention porte sur une technique permettant, dans un environnement dans lequel une limite supérieure de consommation d'énergie électrique est prescrite pendant une période spécifique, les opérations d'un dispositif de mémorisation tout en maintenant la consommation d'énergie électrique conforme à la limite supérieure prescrite et, simultanément, le maintien des opérations d'un dispositif de disque d'un dispositif de mémorisation nécessaire à la fourniture des services à un utilisateur. Un système de mémorisation selon la présente invention comprend un dispositif de mémorisation ayant une ou plusieurs parties excitées et un dispositif de gestion gérant les opérations du dispositif de mémorisation. Le dispositif de gestion acquiert la consommation d'énergie électrique de la partie excitée et commande l'état de fonctionnement de la partie excitée de telle sorte que la consommation d'énergie électrique du dispositif de mémorisation sur une période prédéterminée ne dépasse pas une limite supérieure prescrite (se référer à la figure 3).
