Abstract

Inspection apparatus comprises a feed system for delivering a stream of articles to an imaging zone. A camera generates image data from the stream at the imaging zone for processing by a computer. The computer comprises a pattern recognition system for identifying defects in areas from the image data, and for ranking identified defects. The pattern recognition system is programmed to operate according to multiple defect criteria. The computer is also coupled to a graphical user interface to display the areas identified from the image data as thumbnails on the interface arranged according to rank of the identified defects in the areas, in each of at least two defect criteria. The areas from the generated image data will normally be defined around each identified defect with the defect central therein. These areas, or thumbnails, can overlap.

L'invention porte sur un appareil d'inspection, qui comprend un système d'alimentation pour délivrer un flux d'articles à une zone de réalisation d'image. Une caméra génère des données d'image à partir du flux au niveau de la zone de réalisation d'image pour un traitement par un ordinateur. L'ordinateur comprend un système de reconnaissance de motif pour identifier des défauts dans des zones à partir des données d'image, et pour classer les défauts identifiés. Le système de reconnaissance de motif est programmé de façon à fonctionner en fonction de multiples critères de défauts. L'ordinateur est également couplé à une interface d'utilisateur graphique pour afficher les zones identifiées à partir des données d'image sous la forme de vignettes sur l'interface, disposée en fonction du classement des défauts identifiés dans les zones, selon chacun d'au moins deux critères de défaut. Les zones à partir des données d'image générées seront normalement définies autour de chaque défaut identifié avec le défaut central à l'intérieur de celle-ci. Ces zones, ou vignettes, peuvent se chevaucher.
