Für einen praktikablen Betrieb eines Freikolbenmotors ist ein Ausgleich der schwingenden Massen notwendig, da es hervorgerufen durch die beim Verbrennungsvorgang entstehenden Kräfte sonst zu starken Vibrationen kommen kann, die zu einer Beschädigung des Freikolbenmotors führen können. Dazu wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass für zwei gegengleich arbeitende Kolben (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a) der Kolbenpaare (2a, 2b) des Freikolbenmotors (1) der zeitliche Verlauf Fk der Verbrennungskräfte erfasst wird und daraus die zeitliche Abweichung der Verbrennungsstöße (Fz) dieser beiden Kolben (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a) zueinander ermittelt wird und in Abhängigkeit davon zur Reduzierung der zeitlichen Abweichung der Verbrennungsstöße (Fz) für zumindest einen der beiden Kolben (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a) die Kraftstoffmenge für die Verbrennung und/oder die Verbrennungsluftmenge und/oder die Stromentnahme des zugehörigen Lineargenerators (10) geregelt wird.

Practical operation of a free piston engine requires compensation of the vibrating masses, because otherwise severe vibrations can occur due to the forces arising in the combustion process, which can lead to damage to the free piston engine. To this end, the invention proposes that the time curve Fk of the combustion forces is captured for two opposing pistons (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a) of the piston pairs (2a, 2b) of the free piston engine (1), and the time deviation of the combustion impacts (Fz) of said two pistons (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a) from each other is determined therefrom and the quantity of fuel for the combustion and/or the combustion air quantity and/or the electrical take-off of the associated linear generator (10) is controlled as a function thereof for reducing the time deviation of the combustion impacts (Fz) for at least one or both pistons (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a).

La présente invention vise, par un indispensable équilibrage des masses vibrantes, à éviter d'endommager un moteur à pistons libres du fait de puissantes vibrations provoquées par des forces prenant naissance lors du processus de combustion, et ce, de façon à permettre un fonctionnement correct du moteur à pistons libres. À cet effet, l'invention consiste, d'une part à établir le gradient temporel Fk des forces de combustion de deux pistons diamétralement opposés (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a) de la paire de pistons libres (2a, 2b) du moteur à pistons libres (1), puis à en déduire un écart temporel de la poussée de combustion (Fz) de ces deux pistons (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a) l'un par rapport à l'autre, et d'autre part à régler, en fonction de cet écart temporel, la quantité de carburant et/ou la quantité d'air de combustion et/ou le prélèvement de courant du générateur linéaire correspondant (10), de façon à réduire l'écart temporel entre poussées de combustion (Fz) pour l'un au moins des deux pistons (3a, 4b; 3b, 4a).
