Abstract

An analyser (2) comprises a sample chamber (6) for holding a liquid sample containing particles and an ultrasound source (16) acoustically couplable to the sample chamber (6) to supply resonant ultrasound energy for acoustically concentrating particles in the liquid sample in nodal planes established thereby. A probe (12,14) is also provided which is adapted to supply electromagnetic energy into the sample chamber (6) and to receive the supplied electromagnetic energy from the sample chamber (6) at least during a time at which particles are substantially concentrated in associated nodal planes. The analyser (2) is provided with an analysis unit (28) in operable connection to a detector (12) of the optical probe (12,14) and is adapted to determine one or both a quantitative and a qualitative property of the liquid sample from the received electromagnetic energy.

L'invention porte sur un analyseur (2) comprenant une chambre d'échantillon (6) destinée à contenir un échantillon liquide contenant des particules et une source d'ultrasons (16) apte à être acoustiquement couplée à la chambre d'échantillon (6) pour fournir de l'énergie ultrasonore résonante pour concentrer par voie acoustique les particules dans d'échantillon liquide dans des plans nodaux créés de cette manière. Il est également prévu une sonde (12, 14) qui est conçue pour fournir de l'énergie électromagnétique dans la chambre d'échantillon (6) et pour recevoir l'énergie électromagnétique fournie à partir de la chambre d'échantillon (6) au moins pendant un temps pendant lequel les particules sont en grande partie concentrées dans des plans nodaux associés. L'analyseur (2) est doté d'une unité d'analyse (28) raccordée de façon fonctionnelle à un détecteur (12) de la sonde optique (12, 14) et est conçu pour déterminer une propriété quantitative et/ou qualitative de l'échantillon liquide à partir de l'énergie électromagnétique reçue.
