Abstract

The present invention relates to the protease inhibiting protein named Black-eyed pea trypsin/chymotrypsin inhibitor (BTCI), peptides obtained from this structure and variants thereof which retain biological activity, and use thereof to prepare medicinal compositions aimed mainly at the prevention and/or treatment of neoplastic or pre-neoplastic lesions, such as cell disorders that occur during carcinogenic stages, and to treat pathological processes involving protease inhibition. The properties exhibited by the BTCI, the peptide fragments and bio-active variants thereof can also be utilised to prepare nutraceutical or cosmeceutical compositions, not only medicinal compositions. These compositions can be used, also as adjuvants, to prevent and/or treat carcinogenic processes and other pathological processes involving protease inhibition, both in humans and in veterinary medicine.

La présente invention concerne une protéine inhibitrice de protéases, appelée inhibiteur de trypsine/chymotrypsine du dolique à oeil noir (BTCI pour Black-eyed pea Trypsin/Chymotrypsin Inhibitor), des peptides obtenus à partir de cette structure et des variantes correspondantes conservant les activité biologiques, ainsi que leur utilisation dans la préparation de compositions médicamenteuses destinées principalement à la prévention et/ou au traitement de lésions néoplasiques ou pré-néoplasiques, telles que les troubles cellulaires survenant aux stades de la carcinogenèse, ainsi qu'au traitement de processus pathologiques associés à l'inhibition de protéases. Outre la préparation de compositions médicamenteuses, les propriétés que présentent la BTCI, ses fragments peptidiques et ses variantes bioactives peuvent également être mises à profit dans la préparation de compositions nutraceutiques ou cosméceutiques. Lesdites compositions peuvent être utilisées dans la prévention et/ou le traitement, en tant que co-adjuvant ou non, de processus associés à la carcinogenèse et d'autres processus pathologiques associés à l'inhibition de protéases, aussi bien en médecine humaine qu'en médecine vétérinaire.

A presente invenção refere-se à proteina inibidora de proteases denominada Black-eyed pea trypsin/chymotrypsin inhibitor (BTCI), peptídeos obtidos a partir desta estrutura e suas veriações que preservem as atividades biológica, e sua utilização na preparação de composições medicamentosas destinadas principalmente à prevenção e/ou tratamento de lesões neoplàsicas ou pré-neoplàsicas, como desordens celulares que ocorrem nos estàgios da carcinogênese e tratamento de processos patológicos envolvidos com a inibiçãode proteases. Além da preparação de composições medicamentosas, as propiedades apresentadas pelo BTCI, seus fragmentos peptídicos e suas variações bioativas também podem ser exploradas na preparação de composições nutracêuticas o cosmecêuticas. Tais composições podem ser utilizadas na prevenção e/ou no tratamento, coadjuvante ou nâo, de procesos envolvidos na carcinogênese e em outros processos patológicos envolvidos com a inhibição de proteases, para o uso em humanos e uso veterinário.
