A gas phase polymerization process for producing a polyethylene polymer including polymerizing ethylene and optionally at least one α-olefin comonomer in a fluidized bed reactor under condensed mode operating conditions using a Cr+6-based supported catalyst and a catalyst initiation enhancing agent is provided. The catalyst initiation enhancing agent is an aluminum alkyl solution that is present in the fluidized bed reactor at effective Al/Cr ratios between 0.2 to 1.5. A catalyst initiation enhancing system including at least one aluminum alkyl and at least one hydrocarbon solvent wherein the aluminum alkyl is present in the solvent at concentrations of less than about 0.03 molar.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de polymérisation en phase gazeuse pour produire un polyéthylène polymère comprenant la polymérisation de l'éthylène et facultativement au moins une α-oléfine comonomère dans un réacteur à lit fluidisé dans des conditions de fonctionnement en mode condensé à l'aide d'un catalyseur supporté à base de Cr+6 et d'un agent améliorant l'amorçage du catalyseur. L'agent améliorant l'amorçage du catalyseur est une solution d'aluminium alkyle qui est présente dans le réacteur à lit fluidisé à des rapports Al/Cr efficaces entre 0,2 et 1,5. Un système d'amélioration de l'amorçage du catalyseur comprenant au moins un aluminium alkyle et au moins un solvant hydrocarboné, l'aluminium alkyle étant présent dans le solvant à des concentrations de moins d'environ 0,03 molaire.
