A solid state lighting device includes at least one emitter and a forged heatsink arranged to receive and dissipate heat generated by emitter(s). The heatsink may have a thickness and/or profile that varies in at leats two dimensions. Fabrication of a solid state lighting device may include providing a forged heatsink, and mounting at least one solid state emitter in thermal communication with the heatsink. A space or object may be illuminated with a lighting device including at least one solid state emitter and a forged heatsink. The lighting device may be operated responsive to at least one sensor arranged to sense temperature and/or at least one characteric of light emitted by the emitter(s).

L'invention porte sur un dispositif d'éclairage à semi-conducteur qui comprend au moins un émetteur et un dissipateur thermique forgé conçu pour recevoir et dissiper de la chaleur dégagée par le ou les émetteurs. Le dissipateur thermique peut avoir une épaisseur et/ou un profil qui varient dans au moins deux dimensions. La fabrication d'un dispositif d'éclairage à semi-conducteur peut consister à utiliser un dissipateur thermique forgé, et à monter au moins un émetteur à semi-conducteur en communication thermique avec le dissipateur thermique. Un espace ou un objet peuvent être éclairés par un dispositif d'éclairage comprenant au moins un émetteur à semi-conducteur et un dissipateur thermique forgé. Le dispositif d'éclairage peut être actionné en réponse à au moins un capteur conçu pour détecter une température et/ou au moins une caractéristique de la lumière émise par le ou les émetteurs.
