The present invention relates to an image encoding/decoding method. The present invention provides an image encoding apparatus comprising: an intra-prediction mode determining unit for determining an encoder prediction mode which is an intra-prediction mode for the present block, using a candidate intra-prediction enabling mode set containing an intra-prediction mode candidate which is predictable by the image encoding apparatus from among intra-prediction mode candidates; an encoding unit for encoding a residual block obtained by subtracting a block from the prediction block obtained by predicting the present block in accordance with the encoder prediction mode; a mode information generating unit for generating mode information in accordance with whether or not the image encoding apparatus may predict the encoder prediction mode; and an encoding data generating unit for generating encoding data containing the encoded residual block and mode information. The present invention selectively encodes mode information for the intra-prediction mode, and reduces the bit rate of encoded data obtained by encoding images, thereby improving image compression efficiency and the quality of compressed images.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de codage et de décodage d'images. La présente invention se rapporte à un appareil de codage d'images comprenant un module de détermination de mode de prédiction Intra pour déterminer un mode de prédiction d'un encodeur qui est un mode de prédiction Intra pour le bloc actuel. Pour cela, le module utilise un ensemble de modes autorisant une prédiction Intra candidat contenant un candidat de mode de prédiction Intra qui peut être prédit par l'appareil de codage d'images parmi une pluralité de candidats de mode de prédiction Intra. L'appareil de codage d'images selon l'invention comprend par ailleurs : un module de codage adapté pour coder un bloc résiduel obtenu par la soustraction d'un bloc du bloc de prédiction obtenu par la prédiction du bloc actuel conformément au mode de prédiction de l'encodeur; un module de génération d'informations de mode adapté pour générer des informations de mode sur la base du fait que l'appareil de codage d'images peut ou non prédire le mode de prédiction de l'encodeur; et un module de génération de données de codage adapté pour générer des données de codage contenant le bloc résiduel codé et les informations de mode. Selon la présente invention, des informations de mode sont codées sélectivement pour le mode de prédiction Intra. Ceci permet de réduire le débit binaire des données codées obtenues par le codage d'images et, partant, d'améliorer l'efficacité de la compression d'images et la qualité des images compressées.

본 발명은 영상 부호화/복호화 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 영상을 부호화하는 장치에 있어서, 인트라 예측 모드 후보 중 영상 복호화 장치에서 예측 가능한 인트라 예측 모드 후보를 포함하는 후보 인트라 예측 가능 모드 집합을 이용하여 현재 블록에 대한 인트라 예측 모드인 부호화기 예측 모드를 결정하는 인트라 예측 모드 결정부; 부호화기 예측 모드에 따라 현재 블록을 예측하여 생성한 예측 블록과 블록을 감산하여 생성한 잔차 블록을 부호화하는 부호화부; 영상 복호화 장치에서 부호화기 예측 모드를 예측할 수 있는지 여부에 따라 모드 정보를 생성하는 모드 정보 생성부; 및 부호화된 잔차 블록과 모드 정보를 포함하는 부호화 데이터를 생성하는 부호화 데이터 생성부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 부호화 장치를 제공한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 인트라 예측 모드에 대한 모드 정보를 선택적으로 부호화함으로써, 영상을 부호화한 부호화 데이터의 비트량을 감소시켜 영상의 압축 효율과 압축 영상의 화질을 개선할 수 있다.
