Abstract

An fire monitoring apparatus for large storage tanks of combustible fluids permits wireless communication between a Linear Heat Detector system and a Fire Control system. The system comprises a Communication Unit and a Remote Unit. The Communication Unit relays status and control signals between the Fire Control system and the Remote Unit. The communication between the Communication Unit and the Remote Unit is wireless. The Remote Unit is self-powered using solar cells, batteries, or a combination thereof.

Un appareil d’alarme incendie destiné à de gros réservoirs de stockage de combustible permet la communication sans fil entre un système de détecteurs de chaleur linéaire et un système anti-incendie. Le système comprend une unité de communication et une unité distante. L’unité de communication assure la transmission de signaux de statut et de commande entre le système anti-incendie et l’unité à distance. La communication entre l’unité de communication et l’unité à distance se fait sans fil. L’unité à distance est autonome et utilise des piles solaires, des accumulateurs ou une combinaison de ceux-ci.
