Disclosed is a process for producing a roughly shaped material for engine pistons, which comprises: a continuous casting step of continuously casting a molten aluminum alloy (30) at a melt temperature of 720˚C or higher to produce a casted rod (31) having a diameter of 85 mm or less; and a forging step of homogenizing the casted rod (31) at a temperature of 370 to 500°C to produce a forging material (32) and forging the forging material (32) to produce a roughly shaped material (11) for engine pistons. The molten aluminum alloy (30) has the following composition: Si: 11.0 to 13.0 mass%, Fe: 0.6 to 1.0 mass%, Cu: 3.5 to 4.5 mass%, Mn: 0.25 mass% or less, Mg: 0.4 to 0.6 mass%, Cr: 0.15 mass% or less, Zr: 0.07 to 0.15 mass%, P: 0.005 to 0.010 mass%, and Ca: 0.002 mass% or less, with the remainder being Al and unavoidable impurities.

Cette invention concerne un procédé de production d'un matériau de forme brute pour pistons de moteur, comprenant : une étape de coulée continue consistant à couler en continu un alliage d'aluminium fondu (30) à une température de fusion supérieure ou égale à 720˚C afin de produire une baguette coulée (31) d'un diamètre inférieur ou égal à 85 mm ; et une étape de forgeage consistant à homogénéiser la baguette coulée (31) à une température allant de 370 à 500 °C afin de produire un matériau de forgeage (32), et à forger le matériau de forgeage (32) afin de produire un matériau de forme brute (11) pour pistons de moteur. L'alliage d'aluminium fondu (30) présente la composition suivante : Si : 11,0 à 13,0 % en masse, Fe : 0,6 à 1,0 % en masse, Cu : 3,5 à 4,5 % en masse, Mn : 0,25 % ou moins, en masse, Mg : 0,4 à 0,6 % en masse, Cr : 0,15 % ou moins, en masse, Zr : 0,07 à 0,15 % en masse, P : 0,005 à 0,010 % en masse, et Ca : 0,002 % ou moins, en masse, le reste étant de l'Al et des impuretés inévitables.
