Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device comprising: a VA-IPS mode liquid crystal display panel (60); a backlight unit (70) with a built-in light source controlled by a PWM light control method; and a control unit (1) which controls the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight unit; wherein the control unit (1) acquires response speed data with respect to orientation change of the liquid crystal molecules (61M), and changes the duty of a PWM light control signal in accordance with the response speed data. In a case where the response speed (Vr) of liquid crystal molecules (61M) is relatively high, LEDs (71) are driven with the duty being set relatively low. In a case where the response speed (Vr) of the liquid crystal molecules (61M) is relatively low, the LEDs (71) are driven with the duty being set relatively high, and black insertion is not performed. The liquid crystal display device prevents image quality problems (ghost outlines) that tend to occur depending on the degrees at which the liquid crystal molecules tilt.

Le dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides de l'invention contient: un panneau d'affichage à cristaux liquides (60) en mode VA-IPS; une unité de rétroéclairage (70) dans laquelle est incorporée une source lumineuse d'un système de modulation de la lumière PWM; et une unité de commande (1) qui commande ledit panneau d'affichage à cristaux liquides et ladite unité de rétroéclairage. Ladite unité de commande (1) acquiert des données de vitesse de réponse de changement d'orientation des molécules de cristaux liquides (61M), et modifie le service du signal de modulation de la lumière PWM en fonction de ces données. Dans le cas d'une vitesse de réponse (Vr) des molécules de cristaux liquides (61M) relativement élevée, une DEL (71) est excitée au moyen d'un service relativement faible, tandis que dans le cas d'une vitesse de réponse (Vr) des molécules de cristaux liquides (61M) relativement basse, la DEL (71) est excitée au moyen d'un service relativement élevé, et il n'y a pas d'insertion de noir. Selon l'invention, les problèmes de qualité d'image (contours flous) qui ont tendance à apparaître en fonction du degré d'inclinaison des molécules de cristaux liquides, sont supprimés.

 本発明は、VA-IPSモードの液晶表示パネル(60)と、PWM調光方式の光源を内蔵するバックライトユニット(70)と、上記液晶表示パネルおよび上記バックライトユニットを制御するコントロールユニット(1)と、を含む液晶表示装置であって、上記コントロールユニット(1)は、液晶分子(61M)の配向変化の応答速度データを取得し、その応答速度データに応じて、PWM調光信号のDuty を変化させる。 液晶分子(61M)の応答速度(Vr)が比較的に速い場合には、比較的 低いDuty でLED(71)が駆動される一方で、液晶分子(61M)の応答速度(Vr)が比較的に遅い場合には、比較的高いDuty でLED(71)が駆動されて、黒挿入が行われない。 本発明によれば、液晶分子の傾き度合いに応じて生じやすい画質の不具合 (多重輪郭)が防止される。
