A method of joining two portions of an underwater pipeline for conducting fluid and/or gas on the bed of a body of water, the method including the steps of : joining a telescopic sleeve (39), having a first coupling head (40), to a first end (35) of a first pipeline portion (31) above the body of water (3); positioning the first end (35), the telescopic sleeve (39), and the first coupling head (40) in a first given position on the bed of the body of water (3); joining a second coupling head (42) to a second end (36) of a. second pipeline portion (32) above the body of water (3); positioning the second end (36) and the second coupling head (42) in a second given position, close to the first coupling head (40), on the bed of the body of water (3); and connecting the first and second coupling head (40, 42) hermetically below the body of water (3).

L'invention concerne un procédé utilisé pour raccorder deux parties d'un pipeline immergé pour acheminer des fluides et/ou des gaz sur le fond d'un cours d'eau. Ledit procédé comprend les étapes suivantes: raccorder un manchon télescopique (39) comportant une première tête d'accouplement (40) à une première extrémité (35) d'une première partie de pipeline (31) au-dessus du niveau de l'eau (3); positionner la première extrémité (25), le manchon télescopique (39) et la première tête d'accouplement (40) dans une première position en dessous du niveau de l'eau (3); raccorder une seconde tête d'accouplement (42) à une seconde extrémité (36) de la seconde partie de pipeline (32) au-dessus du niveau de l'eau (3); positionner la seconde extrémité (36) et la seconde tête d'accouplement (42) dans une seconde position donnée; fermer la première tête d'accouplement (40), au-dessous du niveau de l'eau (3) et raccorder hermétiquement la première et la seconde tête d'accouplement (40, 42) en dessous du niveau de l'eau (3).
