The present invention relates to the use of a product obtainable by the reaction of an alkoxylated fatty amine having the formula (I) wherein R is a hydrocarbyl group having 8-24 carbon atom; each B is, independently, an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, a benzyl group, or the group (AO)nH, wherein A is an alkylene group containing 2-4 carbon atoms, preferably 2 carbon atoms; each n is at least 1 and the sum of all n is 2-30; x is 2 or 3; and y is 0-3, preferably 0 or 1; or of a product obtainable by partial or total quaternisation of the alkoxylated fatty amine of formula (I); with a dicarboxylic acid derivative having the formula (IIa) or (IIb) wherein D is -OH, -Cl, or -OR3, wherein R3 is a C1-C4 alkyl group; R2 is an alkylene radical of formula -(CH2)z-, wherein z is an integer from 0 to 10, preferably from 2 to 4, and most preferably 2, and wherein the alkylene radical may be substituted by 1 or 2 -OH groups; the group –CH=CH-, or the o-phenylene group; or by reacting a product (I) with a dicarboxylic acid derivative (IIa) or (IIb), followed by partial or total quaternisation of the reaction product obtained; or by reacting a product (I) with a dicarboxylic acid derivative (IIa) or (IIb), followed by partial or total quaternisation of the reaction product obtained, wherein the product consists to > 60% w/w of oligomers/polymers with at least two alkoxylated amine units and one or more diacid/acid anhydride unit and to > 50% w/w of oligomers/polymers with at least two alkoxylated amine units and two or more diacid/acid anhydride units; as a corrosion inhibitor for metal surfaces. The invention also relates to a method for protecting a metal surface from corrosion by contacting the metal surface with said corrosion inhibitor.

La présente invention concerne l'utilisation, comme inhibiteur de corrosion pour surfaces métalliques, d'un produit obtenu par la réaction d'une amine grasse alcoxylée de formule (I), où R est un groupe hydrocarbyle contenant 8 à 24 atomes de carbone; chaque B est indépendamment un groupe alkyle contenant 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, un groupe benzyle ou un groupe (AO)nH, où A est un groupe alkylène contenant 2 à 4 atomes de carbone, de préférence 2 atomes de carbone; chaque n est au moins égal à 1 et la somme de tous les n est comprise entre 2 et 30; x est égal à 2 ou à 3; et y prend comme valeur 0 à 3, de préférence 0 ou 1; ou d'un produit obtenu par la quaternisation partielle ou totale de l'amine grasse alcoxylée de formule (I); avec un dérivé d'acide dicarboxylique de formule (IIa) ou (IIb), où D est -OH, -Cl ou -OR3, où R3 est un groupe alkyle en C1 à C4; R2 est un radical alkylène de formule -(CH2)z-, où z est un nombre entier dont la valeur est comprise entre 0 et 10, de préférence entre 2 et 4, et idéalement z est égal à 2, le radical alkylène pouvant être substitué avec 1 ou 2 groupes –OH; le groupe –CH=CH- ou le groupe o-phénylène; ou par la réaction d'un produit (I) avec un dérivé d'acide dicarboxylique (IIa) ou (IIb), puis par la quaternisation partielle ou totale du produit réactionnel obtenu; ou par la réaction d'un produit (I) avec un dérivé d'acide dicarboxylique (IIa) ou (IIb) puis par la quaternisation partielle ou totale du produit réactionnel obtenu, le produit étant composé à plus de 60 % en poids/poids d'oligomères/polymères contenant au moins deux motifs d'amine alcoxylée et un ou plusieurs motifs de diacide/anhydride d'acide et à plus de 50 % en poids/poids d'oligomères/polymères contenant au moins deux motifs d'amine alcoxylée et deux ou plus de deux motifs de diacide/anhydride d'acide. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant de protéger une surface métallique contre la corrosion, le procédé consistant à mettre en contact la surface métallique avec ledit inhibiteur de corrosion.
