Abstract

For allowing a very efficient use of available port space without requesting clients to interrupt ongoing sessions a method for operating a network, particularly an IP (Internet Protocol) network or mobile network is claimed, wherein a network address and at least one port range associated to the network address and comprising ports or port numbers are assigned to a client by an address and/or port range manager. The method is characterized in that one or more port ranges will be marked by the manager with an attribute that signals to the client not to allocate any more ports or port numbers in marked port ranges. Further, an according network is claimed, preferably for carrying out the above mentioned method.

L'invention porte sur un procédé pour actionner un réseau, en particulier un réseau IP (à protocole Internet) ou un réseau mobile, pour permettre une utilisation très efficace d'espace de port disponible sans demander à des clients d'interrompre des sessions en cours, dans lequel une adresse réseau et au moins une plage de ports associée à l'adresse réseau et comprenant des ports ou des numéros de port sont affectées à un client par un gestionnaire d'adresse et/ou de plage de ports. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'une ou plusieurs plages de ports seront marquées par le gestionnaire avec un attribut qui signale au client de ne pas allouer davantage de ports ou de numéros de port dans des plages de ports marquées. En outre, un réseau correspondant est revendiqué, de préférence pour réaliser le procédé mentionné ci-dessus.
