Title: MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND AN ELECTRIC MOTOR
Abstract:
The invention relates to a drive unit for a motor vehicle, comprising an internal combustion engine (2.1) having at least two combustion chambers (V), particularly in combustion cylinders (2.2), in each of which a fuel-air mixture is burned with time lag, wherein the combustion chambers (V) are associated with a further working chamber in the form of an expansion cylinder (2.3), in which an exhaust gas mixture pushed out of the combustion chambers (V) is expanded, delivering mechanical power to the output shaft (2.4), and is subsequently transferred into an exhaust gas outlet (6.1). According to the invention, a first electromechanical energy converter (G) is mechanically coupled to the output shaft (2.4) of the internal combustion engine (2.1) and exchanges the electric energy with a storage unit for electric energy, wherein a further electromechanical energy converter (M/G) is mechanically coupled to at least one wheel shaft (4) of the motor vehicle (1) and likewise exchanges electric energy with the storage unit (B) for electric energy. The drive unit can be used in passenger vehicles.
