(EN)Disclosed are fibrous activated materials that can remove and/or deactivate potentially dangerous airborne agents from a gas or air stream. Disclosed materials are multi-layer materials that include a fibrous nonwoven interceptor layer and an active layer immediately adjacent the interceptor layer. The interceptor layer is a fibrous membrane of very low basis weight and defines a relatively low porosity, and the active layer describes geometries, chemistries, etc. that can entrap and/or decontaminate compounds contained in an airstream passing through the material. Disclosed materials can be utilized in forming protective garments, face masks, and the like.
(FR)La présente invention concerne des matériaux fibreux activés capables d'éliminer et/ou de désactiver des agents aériens potentiellement dangereux provenant d'un flux de gaz ou d'air. Les matériaux de l'invention sont des matériaux multicouches qui incluent une couche d'interception en non-tissé et une couche active jouxtant directement la couche d'interception. La couche d'interception est une membrane fibreuse de très faible masse surfacique qui définit une porosité relativement basse, et la couche active présente notamment des géométries et des chimies permettant de piéger et/ou de décontaminer des composés contenus dans un flux d'air traversant le matériau. Les matériaux de l'invention conviennent à la confection de vêtements de protection, de masques faciaux, et analogues.
