Abstract:
(EN) A selective layer melting or other additive layer fabrication method in which powdered material is fused by heating it with a pulsed laser, the pulses being modulated whilst the laser is traversing the substrate so as to control the thickness and/or width of the layer being formed. Initial layers of the fabrication structure may be formed more thickly than subsequent layers, e.g. by means of a CW laser,to reduce distortion. This aspect of the invention may be employed independently of the use of a pulsed laser to form the subsequent layers.
(FR) La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de fusion de couches sélectives ou de fabrication d'autres couches d'additif dans lequel un matériau en poudre fusionne par chauffage à l'aide d'un laser à impulsions, les impulsions étant modulées tandis que le laser traverse le substrat de manière à contrôler l'épaisseur et/ou la largeur de la couche en cours de formation. Les premières couches de la structure de fabrication peuvent être formées sur une plus grande épaisseur que les couches suivantes, par exemple à l'aide d'un laser CW, afin de réduire la déformation. Cet aspect de l'invention peut être employé indépendamment de l'utilisation d'un laser à impulsions pour former les couches suivantes.
